FOR AMATEUR AND EXPERT DRIVERS ONLY

The NASCAR WINSTON CUP series was introduced so that  drivers who like NASCAR racing, but have outgrown the entry level BUSCH series, would have a series to enter with challenges equal to their ability.  It is a class for amateur and expert drivers and scale NASCAR builders.  This class allows for certain modifications resulting in generally faster racing than the BUSCH GRAND NATIONAL.  As in the BUSCH series, this is a motor claiming race.  The fee for claiming a motor is $20.00.   See the claiming rules below.

Note:  No changes or modifications to chassis or motor are allowed unless specifically noted in the rules below.

I.     SPECIFICATIONS: 
General rules also apply.

II.    CHASSIS SPECIFICATIONS:
    A.    Must use one of the following chassis:

1. Parma 588, 595 or 601 Flexi-Kar chassis
2. Slotworks S1501, S1501A, or S9604
3. Ferrett/Racer Products K-207 Spider
4. Champion 410 or 420 XE
5. JK 550
6. Race Pace 1000

     B.      No modifications except:

1. May solder or glue rear oilites in place
2. May solder motor in place
3. May add lead weight
4. May file holes in motor bracket for improved gear mesh, but must retain motor bracket
5. May use 594 Hot Wing and solder to chassis
6. May add tape to chassis
7. May use lightweight steel replacement pans
8. May add spacers between pan and center section
9. May interchange Flexi-Kar and Flexi 2 chassis parts.  This includes pans and center sections
10. Slotworks long or short pans may be used on Slotworks chassis
11. Long or short JK center sections and heavy or light JK steel pans may be used on JK chassis
12. Must used mass produced stamped steel chassis readily available to distributors and consumers
13. Cars must weigh a minimum of 110 grams, race ready.
14. No oilite modification whatsoever is allowed

III.       MOTOR BRACE RULES

A. Motor brace may not exceed one (1) inch total length
B. Brace may be tube, rod or wire
C. It may not be used to reinforce chassis and/or uprights

IV.       MOTOR SPECIFICATIONS

A. Must use STOCK Parma #502 Super 16D motor only with sticker
B. No modification whatsoever to motor allowed
C. After-market brushes and springs may be used
D. Factory seal must be intact at all times.   A broken seal disqualifies the motor

V.         BODY SPECIFICATIONS

A.   Same as Busch Grand National

VI.         GEAR SPECIFICATIONS

A. Any gear ratio allowed, but must be 48 pitch plastic gear
B. The pinion gear may be soldered to the motor shaft

VII.         AXLE, TIRE AND WHEEL SPECIFICATIONS

A. Front axle minimum diameter .047 inch
B. Any front wheels may be used
C. Front wheel minimum diameter 1/2 inch
D. Front wheel retainers may be soldered to front axle
E. Front axle may be soldered where it runs through chassis
F. Any size black rear tires may be used
G. Minimum rear axle diameter id 1/8 inch
H. Drill blank axles may be used front and rear
I. Front axle may be bent

VIII.             CONCOURS AND RACE PROCEDURES ARE THE SAME AS BUSCH SERIES
