$14.00 MOTOR CLAIMING RACE FOR NOVICE & AMATEUR DRIVERS

The NASCAR Parma Flexi-Kar class was instituted so that drivers who like NASCAR racing, could enter a completely stock Flexi-Kar and be reasonably competitive. No changes or modifications to chassis or motor are allowed unless specifically noted in the rules that follow. It is a class for novice and amateur drivers and scale NASCAR builders. In order to equalize competition, these are claiming races. Any driver may claim any car's motor entered in the same race, other than his own (see claiming procedure).

   CAR - Stock Parma Flexi-kar 2. The only permitted changes are as follows:

A. MOTORS - Only stock Parma 501 death star 16D and security sticker allowed.  No modifications to motors are allowed.

1. You may not change any part of the motor. You may replace the brushes and springs with stock replacement  parts only.
2. Motor may be soldered to the chassis.

B. LEAD WIRE

Any lead wire may be used.  Lead wire must be properly soldered to the motor, i.e. soldered to wire tabs.

C. TIRES

Rear tire must be stock black. Maximum diameter allowed 7/8". Minimum diameter allowed 13/16". Front tires and wheels must be stock Flexi-kar tires and wheels. No extra front spacers are allowed.

D. GEARS

Stock 9 tooth pinion must be used. Spur gear may be changed, but must be stock 48 pitch gear.

E. BODY

1. Based on full sized American sedan, not older than three years.
2. Decals and detail NASCAR type.
3. You may not cut the wheel wells past the stock molding on the body.
4. Body may not be raked. Roof height must be 1 9/16" high.

F. CHASSIS

1. Must use Parma 595 only. May not interchange parts or center sections.
2. May glue or solder motor, axle oilites and front wheel retainers only.
3. May tape lead weights to the chassis. No other modifications including soldering, cutting or ball bearings allowed No Hot Wings!

II.            CONCOURS

A. Concours rules are as in general rules with the following exceptions:

1. Mandatory decals
    a.     Large number on roof facing left.
    b.    Number on each front door.

2. Optional decals
    a.    Number on trunk
    b.    Fuel, tire and contingency decals and mechanic's name on front fender.
    c.    Sponsor's name or names in realistic position.
    d.    Driver's name above or below side windows

3. MANDATORY DETAIL
    a.   NO taillights.

4. Recommended details
    a.    NASCAR type roll cage.
    b.    Left side window screen.

III.         THE RACE

A. NASCAR races will be run on the Hawthorn, and occasionally on one of the o

ther tracks, the Nuvolari, De Portago, Clark or Holland.

B. 100 lap qualifying races to determine finalists for the main.
    1.    Concours winner will receive entry fee.
    2.    Concours will also be used to break ties of necessary.
    3.    The eight top drivers will go on to the main event, their numbers to be taken equally from each of the qualifying heats. If there are sixteen entrants, there would be two qualifying heats. Four from each would move up to the main. If there are 24 entrants, 3 would move up from each heat with the ninth driver being eliminated on the basis of Concours or lowest number of laps, at the race director's discretion.

C. THE MAIN EVENT - shall be 250 or 500 laps.
    1.    Lane choice will be random.
    2.    Yellow flag conditions will be used during both qualifying heats and the main event. The yellow flag will be used in the event of multiple car accidents, or any other condition which the race director feels is hazardous to racing.

During a yellow flag period, there is no passing allowed, and cars must reduce their speed to a suitable level as determined by the race director.

D.         MOTOR CLAIMING PROCEDURE

1. In order to claim a motor, you must be entered in the same race as the motor you wish to claim.
2. Claims must be presented to the race director no later than 5 minutes after the end of the race.
3. Claims must be In writing, and must include:
     a.    A description of the car and the name of the driver.
     b.    The name of the claiming driver.
     c.    $14.00
     d.    Claimant receives complete motor with pinion.
     e.    Claimant's name will remain anonymous.
4. Only one claim per driver allowed.

NOTE:  NOTE YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DO ANYTHING THAT IS NOT STATED IN THESE RULES. WE ALSO RESERVE THE RIGHT TO DISQUALIFY ANYONE NOT ADHERING TO THE SPIRIT OF THE RULES.
